Every new season the Premiership introduces many new faces, some of them are young stars coming from another league and some young players rising through the ranks of the club academies. These young players are going to be the face of the premiership for years to come and big things are expected from them. Here is a look at some of the new young stars who have made a switch to the premier league and some youth reserves players who would represent the club for years to come.
1. Samir Nasri: Carried the burden of being dubbed as the ‘new Zidane’ ever since he broke through the youth ranks at Marseille. He made his Ligue 1 debut in

Luka Modric: Signed for a hefty 16.5 million pounds by Tottenham, he is the man picked up by Ramos to fill the glaring void that was left behind in the mid-field for Tottenham following the departure of Michael Carrick. Though he hasn’t had the greatest of starts to his premier league career, he is one player who would go a long way in deciding Spurs’ fortunes. Weather Spurs can eventually break into the top four is purely dependant on Modric’s services to the cause of the team.
3. Robinho: Though has been in International Football for quite some time now, he is still a young player who will get some samba flair along with him to the Premiership. If Clint Eastwood ever decides to make a remake of ‘The Good the Bad and the Ugly’ he should cast Robinho in all the three roles.

5. Rodrigo Possebon: Joined Manchester United from Internacional in January 2008 and already fans expect big things from him. He looks very composed on the ball and is a classy mid-fielder. He looks like a young Michael Carrick but has a pretty venomous shot too. Impressed everyone in the Carling Cup match with his distribution before he got replaced following the horrendous tackle by Pogatez on him.

The just turned 18 year old twins are tipped to be the new ‘Cafu and Roberto Carlos’ of Brazilian football. Yes we have an excellent youth who actually went all the way to the final of last year's FA youth cup only losing to an excellent Man City side in a close encounter....Man City playing the likes of Sturridge who already have PL experience.
We have players like Sinclair Kakuta, di Santo, Mancienne(Eng youth international) , Jack Cork(Eng youth international captain), Mirolsav Stoch etc who are very promising. Ben Sahar is on loan to Portsmouth till January. He was on bench against in quite a few games for them.
At Cobham, we have recently unveiled one of the best training facilities in the world which goes to show how much investment Roman is putting into the youth. I'm sure within a couple of years someone will break into the first team scene.
I'll keep the blog up to date on the happenings of Chelsea academy if something of note goes on.

Hmm... Jack Cork looks like some player going by the report. Would he get first team action next season ? there are many players of that sort who impress at that age but fade out slowly because of the lack of opportunity.David Jones who was the captain for United reserves until 2005 was always looked at as the best academy product for years. Great things were expected from him , he never failed to impress when ever he showed up either for pre season friendlies or in games when he was loaned out . But he just could not break into the team and he was sold a little too late perhaps. That slowed down his development , SAF feared this might happen to Rossi and Pique as well and he was quick to act. So would be interesting to see if he can make the grade at chelsea?
Also not to forget , actually SAF always wanted Pique and Rossi to stay at OT. He expected big things from them. He wanted to slowly make Rossi an integral part of the team , but that required patience from rossi's front. He was keen for regular first team action , as he got number of offers from serie A and from la liga and SAF had to sell him though he made a buy back clause in the agreement.
Why i brought this up was because Jack Cork might also want first team action as other clubs would definitely offer him that.
Talking about opportunities for youngsters at Chelsea, Essien got injured last week or so. They already had mikel who is more than capable of filling that void. And scolari said that belletti and ferreira can play there too, though i understand that they are not specialists. It was ideal to groom some youngster for that position in the carling cup or FA cup matches..need not be EPL and UCL.
Instead LSP goes and brings Mineiro a 33 year old, slashing the dreams of some prospective youngster.
and Correct me if i am wrong, LSP admitetd that he will be staying for only three years. Given the pressure to win titles at chelsea i cant see him integrating more youngsters into the first team.
(I am assuming here that there are talented youngsters available for chelsea to play in that position)
Hmm even i wondered about Chelsea's decision to appoint LPS when he clearly stated that he would be staying for only 3 years. According to me the last thing one would want is a discontinuity when it comes to managers.Harsha has a good point there , LPS knows that he would move out of the club in 3 years , so would he actually care about the general development of the club such as the youth system ?
Arsenal team has become synonymous to youth. Look at the number of gunners in that list !
